Why Are Some People Luckier Than Others?
Why Are Some People Luckier Than Others?
Are you one of those people who consistently have bad luck? Perhaps you always get caught in the rain, never win even the lowest prize on the lottery, and the traffic lights always change to red just as you arrive.
There is an element of perception when it comes to luck; some people may consider themselves lucky, when in fact their luck is no different to anyone else’s. Is good luck simply a positive mental attitude? Imagine you are playing slot games on an online gaming site; is your perception of your luck going to help you win? No, it isn’t, but it will certainly affect how you feel about the outcome.
Science claims there is no such thing as luck and that everything we do in life is either chance or a direct result of our own actions; some things you have control over and other things you do not, your own idea of how lucky you are simply does not come into it. However, even chance can be affected by your idea of how lucky you are.
Imagine you are rolling a dice. You have no control over how that dice may fall, but science says that if you roll it in the same way you will eventually come up with an equal number of falls on each side. The outcome looks random, but in fact, any action has a pattern.
What might happen if you roll the dice as an “unlucky” person? You may give up after a few throws as you feel the result will never be in your favour or you may throw the dice in a certain way in an attempt to control the result; so your perception of your own luck will influence the outcome of your throws.
This is why some people appear to be luckier than others; they have a perception that they will have a good result and simply keep trying until they do. They don’t attempt to make their luck any better by throwing the dice differently because they have awareness, at a deep psychological level, that eventually it will work out OK.
Think of the people you know who seem to do well in life generally. You may say “they are just lucky”, but are they really? They may have walked into a great job or have a beautiful girlfriend. However, they may also have worked very hard at school and always treated people with respect. Both of these actions have weighed luck in their favour, they have affected their own luck.
Online gaming sites, which offer slots, among other games, are always going to be viewed by a glass half empty person, as a bad idea. They will feel that they are unlikely to win or that they simply are not lucky enough. Yes, the results of these games are random, but the perception of the player is important too. The unlucky person may give up earlier or if they keep playing they may feel more and more despondent, so that even when they do win, they refuse to feel good about it.
The lucky person will view online gaming sites as a bit of fun, they won’t be too concerned about the outcome and will enjoy the process. They will do what they can to improve their chances and if they win they will be excited and happy about it.
The Law of Attraction states that those who think positively, are confident and who are enthusiastic will achieve more in their lives; they will attract good luck. The people they interact with will also be positive people, making their chances of bad luck coming their way less likely. They have, in other words, influenced their own good luck.
So the answer to the question is that no one has innate good luck. We are all capable of influencing the rules of chance and even when we cannot, we can still have a positive outlook on the results. If you worry that you are one of those ‘bad luck people’, you simply need to take your cue from the people around you; be positive and some good luck may come your way.
